Background

Larvik Shipping AS was founded in 1988 by John Tollevik. With his background as a capt. and with long experience from ship-owner organizations as Seatrans, Bergen and Norsk Hydro owned Hydroship, he established Larvik Shipping AS with the goal to be an organization with special knowledge on smaller customized vessels.

Larvik Shipping AS bought and rebuilt their first CO2 tanker 20 years ago. Since then, two more vessels were rebuilt, and these vessels are still in operation for the owner, Yara International.

With a sailing pattern of short trips and quick turnarounds in the ports, efficiency and hands-on has been keywords for creating our small ship culture. Today the activities are handled by his eldest son Espen and the former Yara Gas captain Stein Tollevik.

The company is based in Larvik, Norway. Larvik Shipping employs approximately 32 people and currently operates three CO2 tankers and one pallet carrier.
Our major trading areas are the Norwegian coast, North Sea, English Canal and Biscay.
